Cara Haxo

Cara HaxoIn her sixth grade yearbook, Cara Haxo’s classmates predicted that she would become a writer. Now a writer of music, Haxo earned her bachelor’s degree at The College of Wooster and graduate degree at Butler University. Haxo was awarded the 2013 NFMC Young Composers Award, the 2013 IAWM Ellen Taaffe Zwilich Prize, and second prize in the 2012 OFMC Student/Collegiate Composers Contest. Her works have been performed by the PRISM Quartet, Wooster Symphony Orchestra, Foothills Brass, River Falls Brass, Ligeia Quartet, amongst other ensembles. She is currently pursuing a PhD in composition at the University of Oregon.
