Carlotta Ferrari is an Italian composer, organist, singer, and musical therapist. She is the chair of composition at Hebei Normal University in Shijiazhuang, China. Educated at the Conservatory in Milan, she developed a personal language mixing the present and the past. Since her first concerts in Italy in the years 2004-2008, Ferrari’s music has been performed in all Europe, Asia, America and Australia. Her works, particularly appreciated in the USA, have been performed by important American musicians such as the composer Emma Lou Diemer, Matthew McConnell, and Carson Cooman, who played her organ works in a CD. In 2015 her music has been performed at Steinway Haus in Hamburg and in Norway, Russia, China, USA again. An organ recital entirely devoted to her music has happened in Cardiff, UK. Her music is regularly broadcast on WPRB radio, Princeton, USA. Carlotta Ferrari is a member of IAWM, International Alliance for Women in Music, and SIMC, Italian Society for Contemporary Music. Ferrari has been awarded the second prize at 2013 edition of Sisì Frezza competition for women composers, organised by Italian IFBPW (International Federation of Business and Professional Women). She has published CDs for NodoLibri and Sheva Collection and books for Centro Editoriale Toscano, Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso and Noten Roehr, Germany. Her composition are subjected to creative commons licence, allowing their free performance and diffusion all around the world.
