Christopher Mitchell earned his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Southern Illinois University with his primary focus in music theory/composition with Dr. Frank Stemper and Dr. Kathleen Ginther. Christopher also studied piano performance with Dr. Wilfred Delphin, Sandra Wright Shen and Dr. Heidi Williams and has performed in numerous recitals, concerts and master classes specializing in music of the 20th/21st centuries. His compositions have been performed in several states and he was the recipient of three Carl Deis Prizes in Composition. He is currently in the process of earning a Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition at Arizona State University and resides with his wife Charlotte and son Jameson in Gilbert, Arizona.
