David K. MacIntyre is a composer based in Vancouver, Canada. “MacIntyre is a new opera pioneer,” says the Vancouver Sun newspaper. He has written over one hundred works for instruments and voices including opera, music theatre, orchestra, choral, chamber music, art song, site-specific performance and music integrated with dance and theatre projects. Since 1979, he’s been a professor in the School for the Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University where he teaches courses in music composition, interdisciplinary studio and collaboration.
