Evan Williams begins a DMA in Composition this Fall at the College-Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. He holds a Masters’s degree and Bachelor’s degree from Bowing Green State University and Lawrence University, respectively. Williams draws from a wide range of influences, both musical and cultural. His work reflects inspirations from the Baroque, Modernism, Post-Minimalism, contemporary popular music, and everything in between. His honors and awards include second place in the chamber music division of the Emil and Ruth Beyer Composition Awards given by the National Federation of Music Clubs for his saxophone quartet Black Waters and assistantships from BGSU and CCM.
