Francesco Sclafani (b. 1994) is an active composer and clarinetist that resides in Saint Petersburg, Florida and is pursuing a B.M. in composition from the University of South Florida in Tampa where his works are regularly performed. He is under the tutelage Dr. Baljinder Sekhon and Paul Reller for composition. His compositions range from solo works to brass trios to woodwind choirs, including some electronic works. He was the recipient of the Vox Novus Fifteen-Minutes-of-Fame competition for his solo guitar work, Fractal Fingers, which was performed by Rodrigo Baggio at the Jan Hus Church in New York City on February 22nd, 2015. He has also won the composition contest held by The Florida Orchestra, who performed his string orchestra arrangement of the Christmas Carol ‘God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen’, on December 8-10, 2015.
