Isaac Roth Blumfield (b. 1996) is a composer from Saint Paul, Minnesota. He has been a five-time first place winner of the MMEA Student Composition Contest, a finalist for the ASCAP Morton Gould Awards, and recently, an honorable mention in the American Composers’ Forum NextNotes Competition. While in high school, Blumfield was selected to attend a composition course at Freie Universität Berlin where he studied privately for six weeks with renowned composer Samuel Adler. His previous teachers also include Edie Hill and Shirley Mier. In the fall, he will be attending the New England Conservatory.
