Growing up in Scotland Joanna studied music in Aberdeen with Royal Composer, Paul Mealor. Although writing in a variety of styles, Joanna finds choral music the most pleasing and natural area of music in which to compose. In 2015 Joanna was commissioned to write a choral piece for Hampton Court Palace’s 500 year celebration. Taking the text from one of Shakespeares sonnets, ‘Eternal love doth never fade’ was then premiered in the Palace last November.
