John Liberatore

John LiberatoreJohn Liberatore is a composer and pianist living in Southern New York State. His works have been performed in venues around world, including the Kennedy Center, Carnegie’s Weill Hall, the International Viola Congress, and many others. He is the recipient of a 2014 American Opera Initiative commission from the Washington National Opera, two Morton Gould Awards, the Brian Israel Prize, and a 2011 Tanglewood composer’s fellowship. He holds degrees from Eastman (PhD, MM) and Syracuse University (BM) and teaches at the University of Pittsburgh in Bradford. Current projects include works for Third Coast Percussion, a piano concerto for Eunmi Ko and the McCormick Percussion Group, and an electroacoustic piece for carillonneur Tiffany Ng.
