John Teske is a composer, double bassist, and improviser based in Seattle. John composes for chamber groups, chamber orchestra, electronics, and flexible ensembles. Recently he was awarded a grant from the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs to write and perform new works for chamber orchestra and a grant from Jack Straw Productions to record new works for solo bass. John studied at the University of Washington with Joël-François Durand, Juan Pampin, and Josh Parmenter.
