Jonathan Posthuma is a composer / pianist / educator currently working in the Upper Midwest (WI, IA, MN). His music is eclectic and lyrical with major works for solo voice, mixed chorus, keyboard, and various chamber ensembles, including a work for prepared piano awarded at the 59th Annual BMI Student Composer Awards. He also has written music for the theatre, including a suite for “The Glass Menagerie” which was recognized nationally by the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Jonathan is a recent graduate of Dordt College, Sioux Center, IA where he presented two full recitals of original music, majored in Secondary Music Education: Choral / Instrumental and studied composition privately with Dr. Luke Dahn, Nortwestern College, IA. After his student teaching requirements, Jonathan plans to continue his education in graduate school as a composition major, a degree not offered at his undergraduate college.
