Kevin Zhang works with acoustic instruments, voices, computers, controllers, found objects, and combinations thereof. He has written for ensembles and organizations such as the Contemporary Consort, the Generous Ensemble, the Musicians from soundSCAPE, the NEC Sax Quartet and Wind Ensemble, the Ossian Ensemble with members of the London Sinfonietta, and the UC-Irvine Opera and Chamber Orchestra. Based in Southern California since 2010, he is currently working towards a PhD in composition at the University of California at San Diego, where he studies with Lei Liang, Katharina Rosenberger, and Rand Steiger.
