New England-based Matthew Kennedy (b. 1987) is a rising composer of engaging solo, chamber, and orchestral music that has been performed across North America. Recent engagements include residences at The Horned Dorset Artist Colony, ISLAND’s Hill House Artist Retreat, The Mayapple Center for the Arts and Humanities, Finger Lakes Chamber Music Festival, as well as honors and commissions from ASCAP, BMI, Society of Composers Inc, The Hartford Opera Theater, Northwestern University New Music Festival, and Dynamic Music Festival (NYU). Matthew recently completed his doctoral studies at The Hartt School, where he is currently adjunct faculty in the pre-college program’s Creative Studies Department. He and his wife, studio artist Erin Kennedy, currently live in Newington, CT with their two daughters Ivy Pearl and Amelia Harper.
