Interested in creating new modes of listening, Ori Talmon composes contemporary music that originates from dialogs with the visual arts, poetry and science. Informed by research in Music Cognition and Perception, Music Psychology, his works challenge conventional listening practice, and the capacity to holistically grasp textures and forms. Performed internationally in the U.S, France, Austria, Germany, Israel, Switzerland, Poland and Korea in festivals such as June in Buffalo, ISCM New Music Miami, Der Sommer in Stuttgart, Darmstadt Summer Festival, Impuls and Tzlil Meudcan, he collaborated with Sarah Maria Sun (Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart), Francois Depp and Michael Schmid (Ictus), Duo Stump-Linshalm, The La Jolla Symphony, Ensemble Meitar, Palimpsest, wasteLAnd, Cross.art, Stirling, San Diego New Music and more. Ori Talmon is a Ph.D. candidate in composition at the University of California San Diego.
