23 year old American composer Stephanie Ann Boyd strives to write music that is meaningful to audience and performer alike, that brings whimsical worlds to life, and that refreshes and strengthens the creative spirit. Following a natural impetus for artistic generation, Ms. Boyd was educated in the Ann Arbor Waldorf schools and currently studies with Malcolm Peyton at the New England Conservatory in Boston. This season, Stephanie is the Composer Fellow for Collage New Music. An advocate of the innate creativity in young people, she has brought composition programs to music festivals in three countries, and was most recently composer in residence for the YOURS Project Orchestra in Chicago, at the International Music Academy of Cremona in Italy, and for the Ann Arbor Pioneer Orchestras at Interlochen. Ms. Boyd secretly enjoys screaming trumpet music, openly enjoys John William Waterhouse paintings, and will never pass up a London Fog latte.
