Thomas Oltarzewski is a Philadelphia based composer and is currently the Department of Performance Studies Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music. He is a recent graduate of the Curtis Institute with a diploma in composition, and also holds a B.M. in music theory and composition from Montclair State University. His work has been performed by several large ensembles, including the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, and by chamber ensembles across New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia, including the PRISM saxophone quartet and Philadelphia based ensemble39. This year, Thomas was the recipient of the annual Costello Award and Commission from the Lyra Society, and is serving as Young Composer in Residence for Music From Angel Fire’s 2013 season.
